These are the terms for using Connected by Boards. They are short so that they get read. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, please leave the boards where they are.

What the site is

Board games you open in a browser. You can play somebody by sending a link, share one screen with the person beside you, or play the computer. That is the whole of the service.

What it costs

Nothing. There is no charge, no account and no paywall. Boards are added and changed as the collection grows.

The games and the code

Nobody owns the rules of a board game, whether the board was dug out of a royal tomb or first printed in a newspaper. What belongs to us is this version of them: the code, the boards as drawn here, the pieces, and the words on these pages. Play as much as you like. Do not copy the site itself.

At the board

Be decent to the person across from you. Do not try to break the site, overload it or interfere with it, do not use chat or voice to harass anyone, and do not use any part of it for anything unlawful. Whatever you type or say is yours, and so is the responsibility for it.

Availability

We keep the boards open as well as we can, but the site can be down or wrong at times. A room is cleared 48 hours after the last move, and a game in progress can be lost if something fails. Any part of the site may change, pause or close at any time.

No warranty

The site is offered as it is and when it is available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

Liability

As far as the law allows, Connected by Boards and the people who keep it are not liable for any indirect or incidental loss that comes from using the site. It is a free set of boards, offered in good faith.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. When they are, the date at the top changes, and going on using the site means accepting the version shown.
